Stations of the Cross multi-cache - March 15

This morning we headed out to do the 14 stage multi cache that takes you to 14 crosses that forms the stations of the cross where you have to find clues in the picture on the cross in order to decode the final placement of the cache. After walking 9.7 km we finally reached the 14th station. We saw one man with his beads that stopped to do the sign of the cross.

Lola, the owner of our apartment told me last week that every year in April (maybe she meant Easter and didn't know how to say it) the road is blocked to traffic and people do the pilgrimage of the crosses. Some do it barefoot. It would be long to do in bare feet. The road where the crosses are is very busy and long. There was not much to see along the way except a few nice roundabouts.

Once we had finished that one cache, we decided to keep caching in that area. We ended up at a beautiful old church that used to be part of a monastery. We visited the inside since it was free and then went for a well-deserved beer across from the church.

By the time we got back to the apartment we had walked 19.5 km all the way to La Isleta. Didn't make it to 30,000 steps. I would have needed another half km at least but I 'm happy with the numbers and tired.

We will stick close to home for the weekend.
