Another tourist day - March 29

Our plans changed again. This morning they came to install a new intercom system in the apartment building so we couldn't leave early enough to have time to do the series of geocachers that we had planned to do. After the workers and the owner left, we went to the market to get some calamari for supper (yes from the guy that caresses his fish). There is enough for 2 meals so we will try 2 different recipes, one with pasta and fennel and one with tomatoes.  Both have lots of garlic and lemons so it should clear some stuff from the fridge. We are still using the lemons that Jose (the owner) gave us.

We ate a light lunch of a slice of chicken breast each (from the market), a half bok choy and a piece of bread before heading out to the boardwalk again. It's amazing how they can make 4 slices out of a small chicken breast. We went to the San Nicholas church again, I wanted to see if I could improve on the picture I had taken in the middle of the circle but they were setting up a stage over it so we didn't stay.

There was another cruise ship at the port. It sure fills up the city with people when there is a cruise ship in town. This one was bigger than the ones on Wednesday. You can tell that tourist season is around the corner. They are cleaning the streets and sidewalks. Lots of workers are tending to the trees and flowers.

I still haven't had my pitcher of sangria, but we will go next week before we leave. There is a small bar where the church is that sells sangria, 4 euros for a glass or 8 euros for a pitcher. We might as well go for the pitcher. It will be fun watching the people walk by.

Another cruise ship in port. Larger than the other 2 earlier this week.

Jacques decided to bring his camera so that he could practice taking pictures of flowers. He wanted to apply techniques he had learned from the camera club that he joined this year.
