This year is our 40th wedding anniversary so we decided to make 2
special trips. The first one is a road trip to Phoenix (Rollande calls this one
Jacques' trip due to amount of driving). We ended up driving over 17,000 kms.
At the end, Rollande admitted that it turned out to be 'our trip' due to the
great scenery that we saw. Our favorite place was Utah.
The second trip is
a Viking river cruise on October.
We arrived in
Fredericton Saturday around 11:00 and started the chicken to cook for the
rapure. We ate it Saturday night instead of Sunday. We only got to see Bianca a
few hours but with the storm looming ahead we figured we should get a head
start. So Sunday morning we headed out as soon as Nathalie was up which was
7:00.
We started out on a bright sunny day and had crossed the border to
the USA at 8:00. The weather was good until close to 1 but all of a sudden it
started to snow and within 15 minutes it was heavy, so we stopped at the first
exit with a hotel. So here we are at a Best Western in Kittery Maine, about 50
miles south of Portland. Since they do not have a restaurant, we went to a
grocery store nearby and bought sushi, cheese and crackers and of course a
bottle of wine. We are here until the storm abates which might be tomorrow
afternoon. It’s really snowing hard.
There's plenty to do, we have our computer, kindle and there’s a
pool so it can snow as long as it wants, I’m not moving from here.
