The weather is a bit cool with frequent showers, but it is not
slowing us down from our daily 16,000+ steps while exploring and geocaching. We
have found 4 grocery stores that we use on a regular basis. They each have
different styles depending on what we are looking for.
Pingo Doce has a restaurant that serve local cuisine at a very
good price so there 2-3 times a week for lunch. They also have a very good
seafood section.
Continente Modelo has a very good wine selection with great sales.
We found bottles that normally for 12-15 euros on sale for around 3.50. Every
couple of weeks they had Pastel de nata (a Portuguese custard tard) on sale at
6 for 1.44 euros. We have seen some at bakeries go as high as .90 euros each.
There was also Lidi and Aldi discount supermarkets which offered a
variety of local products.
