After passing a quiet day in old town yesterday we decided this
morning to take the bus to Galé for a geocaching run.
We started in trails over the cliffs near the ocean. When the
trail ended, we walked a way on the beach and then we were blessed with 4 km of
wooden boardwalk. This was easy walking for a change. We met 2 geocaching
couples during our 14 plus km walk. One couple, about our age were from the
Bordeaux area in France and the other couple, younger, were from the
Netherlands. We found 10 caches today and didn't make it to the end.
After walking about 10 km we found a bar/restaurant in the middle of nowhere who had the most delicious chicken piri piri and huge cold beers. They spoke french better than English.
We then headed for town which was another 3 km. We had trouble
finding the right bus stop to come back and were getting tired, so we opted to
get a taxi back to old town Albuferia.
It was 12 euros. My Fitbit checked in at 14.59 km but in the sun, it
sure felt a lot longer.
After a glass of wine and a bit of cheese for supper I was rested
enough to go with Jacques to an event at a pastry shop near where we do our
groceries. There were a number of people
there that we had met on Saturday at our event. By the time we got back to our
apartment my Fitbit said that we had walked 18 km today.
Tomorrow will be another quiet day, maybe another pitcher of
sangria on the beach like yesterday would be nice.
We are really surprised how late the children stay up. At 10:30
there were quite a few kids at the pastry shop and in the streets walking with
their parents.
