Today was another quiet day being Sunday and everything closed. We walked towards my favorite place, Plaza Espana taking a different route for you guessed it a few more caches. It is about a 45-minute walk but with the detours it took us a while longer. This time we arrived via the back entrance. It is impressive even from the back. We climbed up to the second level which we had not done the other times. It is unbelievable how many more people there are now compared to a couple of weeks ago and I imagine being Sunday also adds to the mass of people. I knew March would be busier than February, but I wasn’t expecting this much difference in crowds. We will be keeping away from tourist sites on Sundays the rest of our stay.
We stopped for tapas again for lunch at the same place as last week 4 tapas and 2 drinks for 20 euros. The food is not bad at all, but so far none have been as good as the restaurant Dos de Mayo a couple of blocks from here. On the way back we browsed in a couple of souvenir shops but did not see anything interesting. We stopped in the plaza where Dos de Mayo is to enjoy the sun, but it was full of people and kids playing soccer with their ball going everywhere but where they wanted it to go, so we didn’t stay long.
We arrived in time for Nathalie’s call on messenger. Henri was not in a talkative mood, so we did not talk to him, but the girls had plenty to say about their day in St. John yesterday when they called. Isn’t technology amazing nowadays. They were getting ready for lunch while we were thinking about cooking supper.
