March 11 - Better geocaching day.

After doing a few groceries we made a stop at the convent de Santa Ana for cookies. Unfortunately, they only had one kind and it was the same as we had tried from Santa Ines and we didn’t like them as much as the chocolate ones so we didn’t buy anything. We will go again at the Santa Ines one to buy cookies to bring home for Easter when we will see everyone.

We decided to go to the futbol (soccer) stadium to do a series of caches in that area. We did much better than yesterday finding 9 out of 10. It was a very quiet neighborhood compared to our end of the city. It was nice to walk through. Our series took us through a long park just a few blocks from the main street. There was a field full of daisies and many trees in bloom. The city workers are busy removing all the oranges off the trees so that they don’t fall and hurt someone. They roll everywhere on the sidewalks and on the road. The orange blossoms are getting bigger, and you can smell them more than a couple of weeks ago.

We stopped for a long lunch and people watching at a small restaurant. People went out of their way to help us translate. One man went inside to tell them to clear a table for us in the shade and told us if we needed any help with the menu to tell him. After we ordered he asked if everything was ok and asked where we were from. Turns out he had worked in Montreal for a few years. A few minutes later another man came to our table and said that he didn’t work there but if we needed any help translating that he could speak English and French. It was obvious that we were not in the touristy part of Seville. Everyone seemed more laid back and friendly.

We arrived back at the apartment around 4 and spent the rest of the day/evening relaxing since tomorrow will be a big step day. We are going to Huelva tomorrow to do a geocaching run on a trail running alongside the river. They are announcing 22 degrees so should be nice whether we find caches or not. We will bring sandwiches in case we don’t find any place to eat.
