Jacques says that he reads the blog every night to see if we had fun or not. I’d think everyday has been a good day.
It was another gorgeous day with the sun shinning. We have learned that on the weekend there are many people around, so we had a lazy morning and then we went to do ‘some whereIGo’ caches that would take us mostly out of the way of the crowds. The first one took us to 10 spots that were the most effected by floods in Florence’s history. We stopped at 1:30 because we were hosting a geocaching event in front of a statue at Santa Croce piazza. No one had said they would attend, but 3 young men came on their way from school. They have school on Saturdays. They start at 8 in the morning until 1:30, 6 days a week and then they told us a few hours of homework. They are new to geocaching, so they had a few questions. We chose a number and one of them went home with a new geocoin. They told us that class is in italian, but they also learn English throughout their school years and in the younger grades they must choose one more between french, spanish or german. We talked with them awhile before they headed home to do their homework. They must be in their last years of school because they were born in 2005. One even wrote us a thank you note for the event.
Afterwards we started another ‘whereIGo’ that took us to different squares, but we stopped at the 6th step because there were too many people. We will finish it next week when there are fewer people around.
We decided to go for gelato around 8 tonight. The streets were as busy if not busier than during the day. It’s unbelievable the amount of people in the streets in the evening (I was going to say at night, but I guess 8 is hardly night unless your old).
Our grand-son loves trains so we took a few pictures for him. As soon as he saw the pictures, he wanted to get in the car to go to the Fredericton train station to see them.
Was a really nice event for those young cachers! Also, a cute story about your grandson😊 R&D
