Today was our last day before we go home tomorrow. We will have to set the alarm for 4:15 tomorrow morning since we have a 12-minute walk to the stop for the airport shuttle. Traffic shouldn’t be a problem at that hour. We want to catch the 5:15 bus. It’s a 30-minute drive to the airport.
We started by packing the suitcases to see if everything fit. There were still a couple of small holes so we went to buy 4 more cans of foie gras and rillette; after dropping them off we went for a bonus cache that was about 25 minutes away. In the meantime, one of the geocachers sent us a message that there was an oddity that people often missed near the market. He sent us the coordinates. When we arrived there, we saw that it was something we had already noticed. The clock on the corner has a 24-hour clockface. It gave us something to do.
We sat at the plaza Wilson where we had sat last night for a while and people watched before deciding to go to the Saint George plaza which is on the other side of our apartment. It was happy hour, so we each had a beer. It was 21 degrees, so we didn’t bring our jackets but around 4:30 the wind came up and it started to get a bit chilly so back to the apartment.
It has been a nice trip, and we enjoyed ourselves, but we are ready to go home and start planting some seeds. The parsnips and carrots no longer have any snow cover, so they need to be dug up as soon as we arrive. If we go somewhere next year, we will plan on staying in the same place for the duration of our trip.
