We decided that today was going to be a more relaxing day. We achieved this more or less because by evening we had still walked 13 km but it was done with more breaks in between. Today was a bit cooler than it has been since we arrived. It was a high of 17. It’s the 1st day that we have needed our jackets.
We started by going to the market. Jacques wanted what he calls pork candy. The locals call them chicharrones. It is basically deep-fried pork belly. I must admit that it is very good but not sure that it is very healthy. So, we bought a small container of this ‘’candy’’ and some serrano ham. We returned to the apartment and took a break before heading to the big round supermarket for groceries. Sunday it is very busy in the restaurants and the grocery stores along with all non touristy stores are closed, so we wanted to make sure we had enough bread and supplies to make our meals for a couple of days. We bought a rabbit. It was 8 euros. At the coop at home, they are between 28 to 35 $. We should be good for a couple of meals with this. We also bought a tortilla for our potatoes, green beans and my favorite, mâche salad. We needed white wine, cream and Dijon mustard for the recipe so I guess we will have to make it more than once to use up what we bought.
After delivering the groceries, I stayed and read while Jacques went for another cache which was nearby. After he came back, we took the bus to the geocaching event which was a little past the cathedral. We have walked there most days but today was supposed to be a not so active day, hence the bus. On the way we stopped for the 4th time to try and get the answer to a lab cache. We had first looked at it with Joline, but we were still unable to find the answer.
There were 7 people at the event. The couple hosting was from Madison Wisconsin, one couple was from Croatia, one from the Netherlands and one was from Zagreb. It was a multinational event. We talked for a while and after everyone left Jacques and I went for a drink at an outdoors bar with the couple who had hosted the event. We spent an hour or so talking with them before walking home but not before going to solve our elusive cache which we had been told where to look for the answer. Without their help we would never have been able to solve it.

Those candies sounds delicious. If you keep walking 13km a day i would not worry about the side effects. Andre
