This morning, we decided to explore a different end of the city. There was a cemetery that we wanted to visit (it had a cache). It was a little over 2km away so we left with the intention of taking our time and stopping anywhere on the way that looked interesting. On the way we spotted what looked like a hot air balloon but it was tied to a long line so it was not going very far. It was nevertheless interesting to look at.
We were at the cemetery in no time and spent an hour or so looking at the huge memorials and sculptures in the area . Jacques found his cache and then after visiting for a few more minutes we continued on our way. We had spotted a Lidle store so we stopped to see what was inside. I bought a seed pkg of the flat green beans that we like.
We spent the rest of the day just walking around in the narrow streets of the old town. We crossed over to the other side of the new bridge for a cache and then came back to our side again. You are quite high up when you walk on the pedestrian part of the bridge. We walked for a way following the river, The sidewalk was nice and wide and pleasant to walk with all the trees. We saw the Andalusian parliament building that is so huge my camera was not capable of taking a full picture. While we were doing a lab cache, a man came to ask if he could help. He explained the questions and spent a good 15 minutes with us to try and find the answer all the while giving us the history of the building. We were finally able to answer the question. We found a few more caches seeing many churches and plazas where families and friends were sitting.
Not long after we were back Sylvie and Bianca called. We had a nice chat.
We ended the evening with a glass of wine. This is Joline’s last full day here. She will be taking the bus to the airport around suppertime for her return to Lisbon and then home to Nova Scotia.
