Since there wasn't much to see around the train station, we headed to Plaka. I wanted to go to Anafiotika which is a part of Plaka but it is very narrow streets that are clinging to the side of the Acropolis. They are very narrow even for walking. It was built during the 1830's. The houses are all blue and white in a maze of tiny passageways.
Before leaving for Greece, we had read about the number of pick pockets in Athens and the article suggested that you put a fake wallet in your back pocket with nothing in it. Jacques did that and this morning, he noticed this morning that it had disappeared as well as a small notepad. He never noticed anyone in his pocket. Much better than having the real wallet picked.
It started to rain early in the afternoon, so we headed home. It didn't last long but we decided that with two big days coming up that it was a good time to relax a bit.
