Today we took the metro again to the end of zone A. We
were in St. Vincent. It was very different from Alicante, much quieter and very
clean. The sidewalks were wide and there was no doggie doos everywhere. We were
looking for shade much of the day. When we leave in the morning, we need our
jackets but by 10:30 or 11:00 it's too hot for jackets or sweaters. Today it
was in the mid 20's. We haven't seen a cloud since we have arrived, I imagine
that is why the evenings as so cool
We picked up 13 caches and walked 13 km. Not a bad
day. One cache in particular was fun. In the description it said closed from 4
to 8 and Sundays. We couldn't figure out what it meant because the coordinates
led us to a bench and the hint said pull to open. A lady from the nearby bar
asked us if we were geocaching and told us to enter. She showed us a box with
numbers and switches and blue lights. We had no clue what to do. She kept
saying (in Spanish) that we had to answer the questions, but we didn't know
what the questions were. She called the owner of the cache who explained that
the questions were in English in the 7th or 8th page of the cache description. When
we had scrolled down and seen all those pages in Spanish, we hadn't gone to the
end so hadn't seen the English portion. The 8 questions were there with the
answers so Jacques flipped the correct buttons and the box opened so we could
sign the log book. It was pretty neat.

Tomorrow will be a quiet day because the geocaching
challenge is finished for this year.
I wonder what the significance is of a picture of the Mona Lisa beside all of the garlic?? Great pictures and blog. Am enjoying reading and I agree with Wendy, keep the food blog going as well.
