Benalmadena - Chase a rental car day - February 20

Today was the day that we decided to book a rental car for our move to Alicante on Saturday. With this in mind, Jacques took the bus and train to the airport find the best price and book a car. As it turned out, the rental car companies are not all located next to each other like we are used to seeing at the airports back home. Jacques was gone for over 4 hours, First, he missed the connecting train by about 15 seconds so had to wait 20 minutes for the next one. Once he got to the airport, he spent over 2 hours wandering all over the depths of the airport to locate the rental companies. Turns out they were all booked except one, so he booked it. Once he located the last company, the gentleman at the counter said that they were all booked, but if Jacques went on the internet, he could probably find one. I guess he should have done that in the first place.

Now was the time to find the train station to return back to the apartment. Signs are not very well marked in Spain and the Malaga airport is a lot bigger than Moncton. After wandering around for over 30 minutes and asking directions a couple of times, he finally found the station but as luck would have it, missed the train again, this time by about 30 seconds so another 20-minute wait.

Once back at the apartment, we decided that the cost of the car was more than we liked so proceeded to book 2 bus tickets instead at about half the price.

The day was not a total loss, however. We had gone out to dinner a couple nights ago and saw other tables take the house special of a 600gram (21 ounce) sirloin steak from Argentina plus a bottle of wine to share for 25 euros. The steak was perfectly cooked and soooo tender. We will probably go back before we head to Alicante.

Jacques is in heaven with this steak (but he had to share!!)
