Today being Sunday, we took a day of
rest. At least that's what it was supposed to be. We only walked 13 km. We
sauntered around town picking up a few caches here and there as far as the
marina and then walked back taking a different route. The area resembles a lot
like Florida lots of tourist shops, restaurants and small stores selling
trinkets and souvenirs. We stopped for lunch half way through the day and just
nibbled in the evening.
We looked at car rental places for a
day trip to Gibraltar and for one-way rentals to get to Alicante but didn't
book yet. The hotel offers rental with car delivery but is a bit more
expensive. It would be the easiest and still cheaper than booking a tour whose
reviews are not that great.
When we came back to the apartment,
we sat on the deck watching the kids in the pool. We laughed at the lifeguard
sitting in his chair in long pants with a winter jacket and a neck warmer. It
was about 18 degrees.
It quickly cools off in the evenings
and is too cold to stay outside so we watched a movie in the evening.

| Windmill Sculpture Monday - February 18
Today we decided to walk along the
beach to Fuengiorola and cache along the way. It is about 14 km at the other
end of a long cove. We almost made it. But after walking for over 4 hours we
decided that we had enough. The caches were well hidden and hard to get
to. Many that we did not even try for
because it involved climbing. We did not want to risk getting hurt in another
country. According to the waitress where we stopped for lunch, we were only
about a 20-minute walk away. But we needed to come back early enough to find a
car rental for tomorrow morning.
They will deliver the car for us at
the hotel for 9:30. I imagine that means that we won't be on our way much
before 10:30. Nobody seems to be in a hurry here. We'll just go with the flow,
but we have an hour and a half drive before we get to the border for Gibraltar,
so I hope that it won't take too long to fill in the paperwork.
At least we will get a bit of a
break even though the legs are starting to be in better shape. Every year it seems to get harder and harder
to get fit. With all this walking we should be in shape in for golf in the
spring.
