February 16, 2026 - Caught in the rain in Bordeaux

Since it was only a 24% chance of rain after 10. We decided to hop on the tram and go do a geocaching series in the suburbs of Bordeaux. Things were going well until we stopped at a covered bus stop to eat our small sandwiches that we had brought along in case there were no restaurants where we were. Good thing we did because there was no commerce of any kind just houses. A few had beautiful colored flowers on their bushes. Not long after lunch it started to get dark and soon it started to rain hard. Silly us, for believing the weather man. It seems they are no better at predicting the weather than in Canada. Since we hadn’t worn our rain jackets or brought our umbrellas we were soon soaked. By the time we had walked the km and a half to a tram stop it had stopped raining, but we decided that we’d had enough for today. We found 14 caches before it started to rain and there are many more left to find another day.

Lunch time

First flowers we have seen in Bordeaux.

After changing into dry clothes, I decided it was time to do some laundry. I ended up having to go ask how to work the washing machine. Jeanne came over and showed me how to use the machine.

I guess you can’t teach old dogs new tricks. Since the weather was nice again, we decided to go for a stroll in the evening. We again got caught in the rain with no umbrellas.

  1. Like Einstein said "Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results" I suggest you take an umbrella next time. LOL
