October 25 - Shanghai - Day 13

Today we started at 10 with a visit at the silk factory. Quit a few people bought comforters and the quilts but we passed as well as in the clothing side. Afterwards we went to a place where they sell cashmere. We opted to go for a cache that was a couple of km away. 6 others from the group followed us but we didn't find it quickly and we had to go back to meet the group for the Mongolian BBQ.

Making silk comforters - silk cocoons stretched one at a time.- one cocoon = one layer
We were then taken to a Chinese bazaar place. It was a maze of small stores with people everywhere. It was a bit scary. I brought a Chinese hat like the farmers wear. It was supposedly on sale from 120 rnb to 80 because it was Sunday. I bargained it down to 40. Now I'll have to carry it with me because it won't fit in the suitcase.

We finished the day by attending the Shanghai acrobatic show. It was awesome but the seats that Sinorama had were not the best. Some could not see part of the show.
