Today, we needed a day off from all that walking that we’ve been
doing so we rented bikes for the day. It’s really fun biking in Valencia
because they have lanes everywhere just for the bikes. They run parallel to the
streets and are separated from the traffic. They are red bricked, and you are
and feel quite safe biking on these lanes. It was awesome when we were on
really narrow streets it felt like we were the only ones around. We biked Turia
River park from one end to the other and back as well as another park at the
end (I don’t know the name). Altogether we did about 30 km. All of this for one single cache. We had a
great time and the bikes were so easy to peddle. They didn’t look that great
when we rented them, but we were really impressed with how easy they rolled.
It was my turn to cook supper and since it was late, I opted for a
vegetarian pasta dish. The stove takes forever to cook anything, so it took
quite a while for supper to cook, fortunately there was plenty of wine to pass
the time while waiting for supper to cook.
Today we rented a car and went to the mountains at a place named
Higueruelas. By the time we arrived there the temperature had dropped to 2
degrees (it was high up the mountain) and it was snowing. It was so cold that
we decided not to do our intended hike. We did meet with some geocachers from
the area, so we went to a local bar with them and discovered a local favourite
called ‘’ bocadillo de tortilla de patatas con chorizo y ajoaceite’’. It’s a sandwich
but it was soooo good that I asked for the name so that I could order it again.
As you can see we are exercising every part of our body with
walking, biking and stopping once in a while at the exercise squares which are
here and there in the city (weight lifting, elliptical machines, twisters, bars
etc.) and our brain trying to geocache where the caches are really well hidden
(much better than in Canada and the States) and you have to figure out the
camouflage.
