October 17 - Prague - Day 3

Today was a much easier day even though I still racked up 22,000 steps. We started with plans of just going for a short stroll in the neighborhood for a cache and about an hour and a half later we found ourselves up a very big and steep hill. Along with 4 caches we found a great view of the city and the river as well as an old basilica (St Peter's and St Paul's). It apparently was a protestant church according to someone we talked to.  It is almost 1000 years old. We spent a couple of hours exploring there. There was also a cemetery.

We walked down and went for lunch. Beer was around 50 cents for 500 ml. It took about 1 hour for our lunch to be served. At one point I asked if it was going to come soon and she answered in 8 minutes. I guess everything is cooked on demand.

After Lunch we realized that we had to climb the hill again, but it was ok because half way up the stairs there was a cache, so we were able to catch our breadth.

We made it back to the apartment mid afternoon for a short break before going to see where we should go for the metro ride to the airport. Our landlady told us it would be better to take the metro than a taxi because on Fridays everyone is trying to leave the city.

Supper tonight was bread, cheese, fig, and persimmon along with the bottle of wine that our travel agent had left for us on the cruise ship. We hadn't drunk it yet since wine was already included with our meals.

On the lighter side. As much as we are enjoying Prague Ì will not miss the bathroom in our apartment.  The toilet seat is so high that when I sit down there is about a foot of space between my feet and the floor. This is not conducive to making a comfortable position. I now know how a small child who has to sit on an adult toilet feels. Lol.
