Jacques and Rollande: October 16 - Prague

This was long day. We started by trying to find breakfast but everywhere we went they only started to serve breakfast at 9. Turns out that if we had turned left instead of right, we would have found plenty of places that served breakfast early. By 9 I wanted my coffee so we went to the closest one that we found, an Irish pub where we had a standard breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast. According to our host breakfast here in the Czech Republic is cake or something sweet.

We then headed for old town square where we were to meet our guide for a 4-hour tour. Here again it was almost an overload of information. We saw the astronomical clock which is a huge clock from the 1400's that still works, we were shown the old town with all it's historic buildings. We then proceeded to Charles bridge and climbed up to the castle and the cathedral. We came back via golden lane, which was a bit of a disappointment except for the view of the city that was great.

By the time all this was finished it was time to go to a geocaching event that was on our way. It was called "meet the Belgians "". 4 guys on vacation from Belgium. They arrived with coolers filled with all sorts of Belgian beer as well as Belgian chocolate. The beer was good, but the chocolate was awesome.

We finally stopped for supper a little after 8 in a pub. Jacques had the duck since mine had been so good in Cesky Krumlov. I ordered the Bavarian pork steak with potato pancakes.
