Many of our previous trips have started around Valentine's Day and there was often big snow storms around our departure, the worst was when our flight from Moncton was cancelled due to weather and we had to take a taxi to Halifax in order to make our connection in Toronto.
Since we had not travelled since the start of COVID in 2020, we decided to take a risk and book our vacation around the same date. We left Moncton under beautiful sunny skys et the same in Montreal. Both flights were great with no problems. Even our luggage followed us since we could track them with out luggage trackers.
Unfortunately, the Valentine's Day curse showed up again when we were at our gate for the final leg of our trip, Munich to Florence when an announcement was made that our flight was cancelled. Turns out that there was a thick low layer of fog and the Florence airport was closed. After standing about 2 hours in line, we finally got a new flight. Instead of arriving at 12:25 in the afternoon, we will only be arriving at 10:30 tonight.
Our flight was delayed until 11:00 pm. Once we were approaching Florence, the pilot made a couple of attempts to land but aborted each time until finally giving up. He was then directed to fly to Verona instead and we were then bussed to Florence. We arrived at the Florence airport just before 5 in the morning.
Hope you made it to your destination and getting settled. Hope weather is not too cool.Enjoy and Relax.Léonice
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about that last flight, u must’ve been happy to finally arrive and relax. FYI I ended up at the clinic, came home with nose spray, pump and antibiotics. Hoping to start getting better in a few days. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nightmare! My sisters came to visit me for the gem show and I was so relieved they made it as Marie had no power in half of Austin and in her town!
