Another beautiful sunny day. Today we explored around Olhos
d'Agua. One of the local food items that Jacques particularly likes is the
frilled sardines. Rollande also had some, but not her favorite. They were
always served with boiled potatoes.

We decided to take a walk along the beach with the plan of
climbing one of the set of stairs and come back to our apartment via the street
above. That is where our plan took an interesting twist. Once we had walked
over 3 kms alone the beach, we found a set of stairs to climb but once we got
on top, we were in a golf course residential complex and we had no idea how to
find the main road to return home. At one point, Rollande stopped a car and
asked for directions. They pointed the direction that we needed to talk so we
started walking. Less than 2 minutes later, the same car comes back and made us
understand in Portuguese plus hand signals that they had given us the wrong
direction. They then offered to drive us back to our apartment. Since it was
Rollande who originally approached these people, we felt safe in accepting
their offer and were given a ride back. We found the people of Portugal to be
very friendly and this was a perfect example.
Once we got back to our apartment, we went for a drive to
Albufeira to finish the day.
