Our plane landed at 7:30 in Casablanca. There was no hurry this time to disembark. We made our way to customs which was a bit confusing because the security guard told us to go a different way than the signs were indicating. We decided to turn around and ask again. She said it doesn't matter they are all the same.
We were asked to show our passports, boarding pass as well as the name of the hotel we were staying while some others just had to show their passports. We met our bus driver outside and waited for all 30 people to show up. We won't know until tonight when we meet our guide if more arrived during the day. This is the 1st tour with exoticca that our guide was not there to greet us when we arrived. It would have been nice if he had been there to give us a few pointers since the culture is so different from ours.
Today was a free day. We spent a good part of the day just strolling around the waterfront and the Hassan II Mosque. We opted to not go inside the mosque as they only sold combination tickets that included the museum and since we have already been to two mosques in Turkey and wanted to see more of the city we skipped the inside.
We had a late lunch at a nearby restaurant. We both ordered tagines but different ones. Jacques had a fish and olive tagine and I had the chicken with citron confit. Both were good with spices that are very different from what we are accustomed to.
We met some of the people from our tour while wandering around. When we said that we were headed to the waterfront 2 of the ladies decided to tag along. Contrary to what we had read and heard we were not approached by anyone to buy or help us.
We have one couple in the groups of 35 that are not Canadian. They are from the Uk.
