Every neighbourhood has a different day of the week for their farmers market. The day for our neighborhood called Koukaki is Friday so we began our day by going to the neighborhood market. We bought 3 lemons for .30, 6 kilos (over 13 lbs) of juice oranges for 2 euros about $3. We also bought bright red tomatoes and a cucumber and strawberries that were so...oo good. We wanted shrimp but there was only one fisherman with fresh shrimp, and they were small and the same price (about $5 lb) as the bigger ones at the central market so we will go there. Octopus seems to be the most common fish around. We will have to read up on how to cook it. Also, we need to find recipes for goat, preferably curried. There is a limited amount of pots and pans in the kitchen. When we arrived, the owner told us that we are his longest staying clients so far.
